Kattie Laur is podcast growth specialist, producer, consultant, and writer based in Brantford, Ontario. She has a life-long love of public radio, and has been clinging to the podcasting space since 2013.

Her experience and insights in both professional and independent podcasting have led her down a path of advocacy. She is focused on making the Canadian podcasting ecosystem sustainable, equitable and world-renowned. That’s why she created Pod the North, the biweekly newsletter for the Canadian podcasting ecosystem which goes out to over 1200 subscribers from across the podcasting industry.

Kattie’s career as an freelance podcast producer has been spent working on projects with Vocal Fry Studios’ Building Good and Playing with Marbles, Canadaland’s Wag the Doug and The Worst Podcast (summer 2024), Shayla Oulette Stonechild’s Matriarch Movement, The BetaKit Podcast, and the award-winning podcast from Noelle Floyd, Equestrian Voices.

In April 2024, Kattie made the bittersweet decision to leave her career in freelance podcast production, deciding to continue her focus on podcast community building (and work-life balance). She has joined the incredible team at Bumper as their newest podcast growth specialist.

Kattie is also currently also working Pod the North's new flagship podcast, Canardian: the podcast gossiping about Canadian hometowns.

A commitment: In creating podcasts we are building audiences that return week after week to hear our voices. I will use my voice and services to be anti-racist and speak against violence, injustice and inequality. We must always encourage our audiences to be educated, engaged, and to take action. #PodcastersforJustice
